Meet the Ambassador: Sophie from @everythingsophiereads

For the first time ever, The Quirky Cup Collective has recruited a mini club of Ambassadors who are here to experience and share the love for our creations. All of them are wonderful in their own right and we thought we'd give them the chance to introduce themselves and participate in a fun quiz so you can get to know them a little better!

Please give a warm welcome to Sophie 💕

Hello and Welcome! Please introduce yourself to the Quirky community!

Hiya! My name is Sophie and I live just outside of Belfast in Northern Ireland📍and my IG handle is @everythingsophiereads

We need to know! What's your ideal reading setup?!

Mid-afternoon, fire lit, cosy on the sofa with a blanket, a cup of tea in one hand (kindle/book in the other of course!) and headphones on (I’ve been loving “deep space” ambience recently 🪐)

We know you love reading, but what hobbies do you have outside of inhaling books?!

When I’m not reading, I’m usually playing The Sims or watching period dramas!

Favourite book or series of all time? Yes, just one. Sorry not sorry.

The Hunger Games, since I have to pick just one!

Your favourite book trope and favourite book for that book trope?

The classic “oh no! There’s only ONE BED 😱” trope! And I’d have to pick A Court of Mist and Fury for that one 🫶🏼

This might be a hard one BUT what is your most controversial book opinion!?

Audiobooks ABSOLUTELY count towards your reading goal for the year.

What book character do you resonate with and why?

Hazel from The Thirteenth Child (by Erin A. Craig). Her character has so many struggles to get to where she ends up and as someone who has really had to push myself out of my comfort zone, I really love and respect that!

Spill the tea: What is your favourite Quirky Cup item and why?!

How am I supposed to pick just one?! The Reading Journal is pretty high on my list though, I’ve noticed that filling out the review sections has really helped me to remember the plot of the book I’ve just finished 😂 usually I forgot straight away, even if I loved it! The design is also just so magical, can’t stop looking at it 🥹🫶🏼

Reading is a sacred pastime. What are your MUST have reading accessories?

Noise-cancelling headphones! The best gift I think I’ve ever received because they allow me to disconnect from the world around me and fall into the book I’m reading (especially when I pick the perfect playlist/ambience to match the genre!)

Marry/Fuck/Kill: ACOTAR Edition

Kill Aelin, marry Feyre and fuck Bryce
Marry Rhysand, kill Hunt and fuck Rowan

This or that 🔥

  • Kindle or Physical Book
  • Big books or quick reads?
  • Annotating or pristine books?
  • Tea or Coffee?
  • Slow-burn or insta-love?
  • Bookmark or whatever paper thing is on hand?
  • Dog earing: Prison time or perfectly acceptable
  • Friends to lovers or enemies to lovers?

And lastly, you were asked to be an ambassador for The Reading Journal & matching accessories; how are you finding them so far!? Be honest.

I’m loving everything! The Reading Journal is so gorgeous and has just the right amount of prompts inside, the pen writes like A DREAM, the bookmark makes all my books look so fancy with the lil tassel and the Kindle Sleeve is both practical and stunning! I’ve got my eye on a couple of other bits and pieces over on the website that I’ll be building my collection with soon! Also, being a Quirky rep in general has been such a blast too 😍✨

Do you and Sophie read similar books and like the same things!? If yes, you can find and keep up with them via their socials below! Be sure to pop them a hello if you do 💕
