Meet the Ambassador: Steph from @readwithacapricorn

For the first time ever, The Quirky Cup Collective has recruited a mini club of Ambassadors who are here to experience and share the love for our creations. All of them are wonderful in their own right and we thought we'd give them the chance to introduce themselves and participate in a fun quiz so you can get to know them a little better!

Please give a warm welcome to Steph💕

Hello and welcome. Please introduce yourself to the Quirky community!

I'm Steph from Melbourne, Australia! I started @readwithacapricorn on Instagram over 3 years ago now and have loved every second.

We need to know! What's your ideal reading setup?!

In my bed or somewhere else cosy! Preferably on holiday somewhere with Library ambience and a crackling fireplace going on in the background.

We know you love reading, but what hobbies do you have outside of inhaling books?!

Book binding is one of the many crafts I've picked up over the years and I surprised everyone when I stuck with it longer then 3 months! Making books for my friends is my new favourite gift to give at birthdays or Christmas!

Favourite book or series of all time? Yes, just one. Sorry not sorry.

It changes all the time but the Legends of Thezmarr series by Helen Scheuerer is my current hyper fixation. It's the perfect mix of romance and fantasy, high stakes and epic world-building.

Your favourite book trope and favourite book for that book trope?

Enemies to lovers but in a 'he falls first' way. The Hurricane Wars is just perfection because Alaric is the king of simp city for Talasyn.

This might be a hard one BUT what is your most controversial book opinion!?

I don't care if a series is finished before I start it. I love the anticipation and I usually always have a friend who can give me a recap because my memory is horrendous.

What book character do you resonate with and why?

Halle from Daydream by Hannah Grace. She is the epitome of a people please to her own detriment and I have never felt so seen in a character. She also loves readying smutty romances and Taylor Swift so I have to say she's basically me in a book character.

Spill the tea: What is your favourite Quirky Cup item and why?!

The yearly planners! There's so many added features, like the weekly to-do lists and the gratitude section. Plus they're gorgeous so it looks great on my desk.

Reading is a sacred pastime. What are your MUST have reading accessories?

A pop socket for my kindle and headphones.

 Marry/Fuck/Kill: ACOTAR Edition

Marry: Rowan, Fuck: Rhys, Kill: Hunt

This or that 🔥

  • Kindle or Physical Book

  • Big books or quick reads?

  • Annotating or pristine books?

  • Tea or Coffee?

  • Slow-burn or insta-love

  • Bookmark or whatever paper thing is on hand?

  • Dog earing: Prison time or perfectly acceptable

  • Friends to lovers or enemies to lovers?

And lastly, you were asked to be an ambassador for The Reading Journal & matching accessories; how are you finding them so far!? Be honest.

Absolutely amazing. The pens are my new obsession and I full intend on purchasing all of them. The reading journal has so many incredible features, and I love how it can extend over a few years so you don't need to buy a new one each year (or forget about it like me whoops.)

Do you and Steph read similar books and like the same things!? If yes, you can find and keep up with them via their socials below! Be sure to pop them a hello if you do 💕

Become an Ambassador

Want to become an Ambassador?

Every few months, we open the doors to a select group of bookworms, journal fiends, and stationery romantics who get to live out their Quirky Cup Collective dreams as official ambassadors. It’s for the ones who can’t resist a beautiful notebook, who always have a book (or five) on the go, and who get a little thrill from the perfect pen gliding across the page.
