Meet the Ambassador: Brylie from @brylieandbooks

For the first time ever, The Quirky Cup Collective has recruited a mini club of Ambassadors who are here to experience and share the love for our creations. All of them are wonderful in their own right and we thought we'd give them the chance to introduce themselves and participate in a fun quiz so you can get to know them a little better!

Please give a warm welcome to Brylie 💕

Please introduce yourself to the Quirky Community!

Hi! I’m Brylie from @brylieandbooks. I live in Bendigo, a rural city in Victoria, Australia.

What's your ideal reading setup?

My ideal setup is on my couch with a cosy blanket, a cup of tea, and some sort of snack. But I also love listening to audiobooks in the bathtub. On sunny days, I like to sit on the deck outside and read.

What are your hobbies outside of reading?

I love playing video games. I’ve always been a PlayStation girly, but I play Switch sometimes too. I also love trying new things (which I’m going to call a hobby). Usually, this involves something simple like trying a new recipe, going to a new place, or doing something creative, like an adult paint-by-numbers.

Favourite book or series of all time? (Yes, just one!)

This is a SUPER tough question, I love so many! But at the moment, it’s the Red Rising Saga. It’s epic in every way.

Your favourite book trope & favourite book for that trope?

Trope: Enemies to lovers or rivals to lovers.
Book: Fourth Wing (though there are so, so many books that do this trope well!).

Most controversial book opinion?

Most popular TikTok books suck. I think it’s the sheep effect. People just fall in line and say they like something because everyone else does.

But then, I’ve always been the black sheep, unafraid to voice my opinions. And my opinion? 80% of popular TikTok books I’ve read this year were not good books.

What book character do you resonate with and why?

I actually find it hard to resonate with book characters. A lot of the ones I read about are badass and way more confident than me. But if I had to choose, I’d say Nesta Archeron.

She’s so angry, and I really felt that. When I read ACOSF, I understood her in a way I didn’t expect. She also does things I could see myself doing, like what she does with the Valkyries. Plus, we have some shared interests: chocolate and spicy books.

What is your favourite Quirky Cup item and why?!

I am a HUGE fan of the Literati Journals. All the colours are stunning, and I love that they come in different fill options (dotted, lined, or blank).

I have one in Royal Blue, and I love the colour—it also has the cutest ribbon!

What are your MUST-have reading accessories?

  • Cute bookmarks

  • A book sleeve (for travel)

  • A protective dust jacket (for hardcover special editions when I want to read them)

  • A reading journal (to note down my progress!)

Marry / Fuck / Kill?

  • Marry Feyre, Fuck Bryce, Kill Aelin (sorry!)

  • Marry Rhysand, Fuck Hunt, Kill Rowan.

This or that 🔥

  • Kindle or Physical Book
  • Big books or quick reads?
  • Annotating or pristine books? This one was HARD
  • Tea or Coffee?
  • Slow-burn or insta-love?
  • Bookmark or whatever paper thing is on hand
  • Dog earing: Prison time or perfectly acceptable
  • Friend to lovers or enemies to lovers?

And lastly, you were asked to be an ambassador for The Reading Journal & matching accessories. How are you finding them so far?! ✨

I am OBSESSED. The Reading Journal is the prettiest reading accessory I own. I kind of feel bad marring something so perfect.

I also LOVE the pen, and I will definitely be getting more of these!

Do you and Brylie read similar books and like the same things!? If yes, you can find and keep up with them via their socials below! Be sure to pop them a hello if you do 💕
