Meet the Ambassador: Lauren from @fictiontea

For the first time ever, The Quirky Cup Collective has recruited a mini club of Ambassadors who are here to experience and share the love for our creations. All of them are wonderful in their own right and we thought we'd give them the chance to introduce themselves and participate in a fun quiz so you can get to know them a little better!

Please give a warm welcome to Lauren 💕

Hello and welcome! Please introduce yourself to the Quirky community.

Hey, hi, hello! I’m Lauren from Fiction Tea, where the tea…is fictional *sip

I’m from Scotland, but I tend to spend most of my time consuming copious amounts of tea and getting lost in Fantasy realms!

We need to know! What's your ideal reading setup?!

I tend to try read from the sofa because I don’t last long reading in bed, I fall asleep so quickly!

So I would say reading on the sofa, with a beverage of some kind (preferably tea), a blanket, a candle (or two) lit and an ASMR room on the TV! I prefer to have crackling fires or gentle wind over the much beloved rain sounds which I personally find a bit too distracting!

We know you love reading, but what hobbies do you have outside of inhaling books?!

I love to sketch, craft or be doing some kind of DIY! I’m very creatively minded so anything I can be doing to get that energy out is amazing!

I love to write as well, I did it everyday back when I had more time and now I do it whenever I have the chance.

And of course, I love to game, and by game I mean, play The Sims.

Favourite book or series of all time? Yes, just one. Sorry not sorry.

The Bone Season’ series by Samantha Shannon! I owe a lot to this series because I initially made my Bookstagram to find other fans!

Your favourite book trope and favourite book for that book trope?

I feel like we all love a good Enemies to Lovers trope, so I’m going to go with one of my close second favourites and say ‘Hidden Identity’ trope which is in one of my all time favourite books ‘Divine Rivals’ by Rebecca Ross!

This might be a hard one BUT what is your most controversial book opinion!?

I actually don’t mind cracking book spines…it just makes them look well read and loved.

What book character do you resonate with and why?

Nesta from ACOTAR, because I feel like whilst she can be mean, tough and stand off-ish, she’s so misunderstood and she does have a soft side to her! I feel like I seen a lot of myself in her, especially in ‘A Court of Silver Flames’!

Spill the tea: What is your favourite Quirky Cup item and why?!

One doesn’t simply choose ONE Quirky item?!

But I’ll try…

*8 hours later*

I’ve settled on the Pens! I love every Quirky item I own deeply, but the pens are the item that I always talk about the most! In addition to that, I’ve been ruined for all other pens. They’re perfect for annotating books too!

I own around 40 currently and I’m not mad about it.

Reading is a sacred pastime. What are your MUST have reading accessories?

Headphones, because sometimes you just need silence you know? Or those gentle ASMR sounds!

Sticky tabs to mark any favourite parts too, which I recently started doing again!

And lastly, you were asked to be an ambassador for The Reading Journal & matching accessories; how are you finding them so far!? Be honest.

I’m not lying when I say I use at least one or a few of them every single day! I adore them all and I’m enjoying the act of sitting down and actually writing out my thoughts and feelings about the book I just finished, with my fabulous Quirky pen, in my stunning Quirky Reading JournalIt’s become almost a daily routine which is a lot coming from someone who struggles keeping up with logging my reading, the journal just makes it so easy and fun. Genuinely, I’m so utterly obsessed with every item!

Do you and Lauren read similar books and like the same things!? If yes, you can find and keep up with them via their socials below! Be sure to pop them a hello if you do 💕
